Duncan Shepard is a writer and musician living in Hartford, Connecticut, USA with his wife Chantelle. As a lifelong musician and songwriter, Duncan has written and released over 75 songs with his psychedelic rock band The Striped Bananas. Chantelle is a member of the band and is also a published poet. Their music has received critical acclaim from such noteworthy publications as Goldmine magazine and Shindig! magazine.

He began writing fiction in Autumn of 2022, after his father George V. Shepard passed away. This became a meaningful way to connect with his late father. Duncan hopes one day to finish writing some of the stories his father left. Duncan sold his first story in 2023 and has been published by Hiraeth (The Hungur Chronicles), Jersey Pines Ink, and The Writers Co-op.

He enjoys blending genres and exploring the pathway of weirdness that speculative fiction offers.

When not writing or playing music, Duncan is an avid photographer of racing cars. His photos have been published in Victory Lane magazine and Vintage Oval Racing magazine. This love of being near racing cars inspired his story “A Mile Beyond Sanity,” published by Cloaked Press.
