Stephen Shewmake is a retired Project Manager from San Jose, California. He now resides in the Philippines with his wife, Belinda, and their Belgian Malinois, Akira. In addition to writing and occasionally island hopping, Stephen attends to the constant needs of thirty Bonsai trees. He grew up in Pasadena, Southern California, but relocated to San Mateo, Northern California, to work for several tech companies until the 2008 recession. He and his wife packed up, sold the house, and moved to his wife’s home country, the Philippines. There, he built several homes and sold them to other expats wanting Western-style residences. During this time, he rediscovered his passion for writing and continues hone his craft.
