Clifton Brown is a versatile storyteller, veteran, and an emerging voice in both speculative fiction and non-fiction. With a history of service in the United States Navy, Clifton blends real-world experience with imaginative narratives that span Dark fantasy, Science Fiction, Romance, and emotional depth. His debut novel, In The Ghost’s Shadow, draws readers into a dark, thrilling world where science meets the supernatural, and cosmic stakes intersect with personal struggles. In addition to his novel, Clifton has published several short stories, demonstrating his ability to craft engaging tales in Dark Fantasy and Sci-Fi where he finally found his niche.
His book, Harness Your Emotional Intelligence, teaches skills he used to save his marriage and familial relationships after his experiences overseas. Beyond the Nile: Gods and Legends from the Heart of Africa, explored his fascination with ancient wisdom and spiritual themes. This opened a new world for him and is weaving the mythos into many of his newer works.
His inspiration comes from a wide array of sources. Along with staying up to date on cutting-edge science and technology (shout out to physicist Carlo Rovelli), Clifton draws from his vivid dreams, which he meticulously catalogs in a dream diary. An avid gamer, he also immerses himself in interactive storytelling and richly detailed worlds, further fueling his creative process.
